Morgan's Wonderland

EXECUTIVE SIGNS HELPS WORLD’S FIRST SPECIAL NEEDS SPORTS AND RECREATION PARK GET OFF THE GROUND

Sign Company Collaboratively Brands Morgan’s Wonderland with The Gordon
Hartman Family Foundation

When the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation decided to create the world’s first recreational
park for families of those with special needs, they developed a very complex network of companies and donors that were willing to help them with their vision of Morgan’s Wonderland. Aside from receiving funding from The City of San Antonio and the County, they also received major backing from the State of Texas, as well as other nearby companies and organizations. Executive Signs also wanted to give to this momentous undertaking and lent their sign expertise to the project. After months of planning, many meetings and many sleepless nights, the project is now coming to an end.

“This park was a great idea for our whole community and we wanted to help in any way we could. We have met with architects, engineers, the park staff, the Foundation members and Gordon Hartman himself to make sure that all aspects of the signage came out perfectly,” says David Fuller, President of Executive Signs. Not only did they open their books to the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation, they also made sure that they were providing a high quality service. Since June, 2009 Executive Signs has produced the brightly lit LED entry pylon, all of the directional, building and ride signs, all of the ADA required signs, picture opportunity cut-outs of the park’s heroes and even a 9-foot replica of the park’s signature butterfly perched on top of the water tower. “Executive Signs worked seamlessly with our team of contractors, architects and builders. The signs throughout the park are beautiful and welcoming to all of our visitors,” says Gordon Hartman.

Morgan’s Wonderland is something that all members of Executive Signs feels proud to have
worked on. “The project has been inspiring and I’m glad I had a hand in the creation of something that will benefit so many families,” says Michael White, Lead Designer at Executive Signs. Overall, the team is proud to give back to their community and to help create something that so many can enjoy.
